Ben and Janelle took their first camping trip together to Crested Butte. Janelle liked Ben so much that on their second date she invited him to go camping a few weeks later.

Ben's obsession with the show Stranger Things led them to this photo. Janelle 100% committed to the bit and cut her bangs last minute to nail the look.

Ben and Janelle would venture all over Colo -Rad-o for skiing. This trip took them to Crested Butte and Telluride.

While working from home, they were able to take on some house-sitting gigs to travel more. During this one to Carbondale, Janelle had to play doctor and put Ben's shoulder back in place one evening.

Ben took Janelle home to Michigan for a 3 week tour of the west coast beaches and the UP. One stop along the way was Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Kayaking along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the UP was the clear high point of the trip. They followed it with a 10-mile hike along the cliffs—still their favorite adventure together.

Janelle adopted the boys, Gus and Louie! Gus was immediately attached to Ben and still is to this day. Louie has always been and will always be a mama's boy.

For Ben's 30th birthday, the couple travelled to New Zealand with friends. His birthday was spent on Lake Taupo, where he was determined to take the plunge 30 times before leaving the water.

Ben, Janelle, and their friends spent 2 weeks driving across NZ, experiencing nature, swimming, skydiving, and spelunking. An incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience that they'll never forget.

Janelle brought Ben to her hometown of Santa Barbara, where they happily survived on a steady diet of avocados and Super Cucas breakfast burritos at the beach.

After 2 years of dating, Ben and Janelle were ready for the next chapter and moved in together. The boys were so excited for the boxes... and to sleep between Ben's legs every night.

For Janelle’s 30th birthday, they headed to Mexico City—ate way too much salsa and tortilla chips (Janelle's favorite food)—and chose their first pieces of shared art.

They spent a magical day on the tree runs at Steamboat, where the champagne powder was flowing like they had never seen.

Janelle took Ben to one of her go-to Colorado places, Great Sand Dunes National Park. They’re still finding sand.

With their trucks full and their cats in tow, Ben and Janelle said goodbye to Denver...

And hello to Michigan!

At their favorite spot in Michigan, Ben got down on one knee and said, ‘I always pictured putting a rock on your finger at Pictured Rocks.’

With Lake Michigan at the center of so many of their memories, they figured it was only fitting to take their engagement photos in the lake.

To be continued… Ben and Janelle will be experiencing life on Michigan’s west coast until the wedding, then deciding where the next chapter takes them.
